Producing images with AI based on a brief text input has become significantly quicker, thanks to the introduction of a new model by Stability AI. Known as Stable Diffusion XL Turbo, this rapid AI image generator can generate images in real-time, keeping pace with the speed at which you type your text prompts.

Compared to its predecessor, this model demonstrates remarkable speed improvement, employing an innovative method called Adversarial Diffusion Distillation to streamline the process from 20-50 steps down to a single step. Such enhanced speed capabilities open up possibilities for the implementation of real-time AI video filters or game graphics.

OpenAI has recently released a letter disclosing the official return of Sam Altman as the CEO, marking the one-year milestone of ChatGPT's launch. The leadership team includes Mira Murati returning as CTO and Greg Brockman as President. The newly formed board features Bret Taylor as Chair, Larry Summers, and Adam D’Angelo.

Microsoft has a non-voting 'observer seat.' Notably, Chief Scientist Ilya Sutskever is absent from the board, and Altman mentioned ongoing discussions about how he can continue his work. Helen Toner and Tasha McCauley have stepped down from their board seats, with Toner clarifying on Twitter that the actions were not intended to impede OpenAI's progress.

Altman also addressed the Q* rumors in an interview with The Verge, labeling it an "unfortunate leak."
