According to a blog post written by an attendee of a private meeting in London, OpenAI's CEO Sam Altman recently disclosed future plans for ChatGPT. Although the blog post has been removed at OpenAI's request, a copy was saved by an internet archiving website. More from the blog post here
Here are the essential points from the post:
OpenAI aims to make GPT-4, the underlying model of ChatGPT, more cost-effective and faster.
They intend to enable users to input and generate images using GPT-4.
OpenAI also seeks to enhance the model's capacity to receive data from users.
The blog post also mentioned the following noteworthy details:
GPT-5 is expected to be several times larger than GPT-4, not millions of times larger as speculated by some.
OpenAI's scalability and the implementation of app features are significantly hindered by the lack of Graphic Processing Units (GPUs).
The availability of ChatGPT plugins for enterprise customers is unlikely to happen in the near future.
Google has introduced fresh enhancements to Search Generative Experience (SGE), an innovative AI-powered approach to browsing the web.
Rather than presenting links to content created by humans, SGE utilizes artificial intelligence to gather information from diverse sources and generate a single response.
These updates aim to significantly reduce the loading time, a significant step in ensuring that this novel experience matches the existing methods.
To access human-designed content, one must scroll through an entire page of AI-generated material, but let's be honest, how often do you venture beyond the first page of Google results?
In recent months, we have witnessed various intriguing applications of AI, ranging from incredibly realistic deepfakes to expanded album covers. Although AI-generated QR codes may not initially seem like the most captivating use of this technology, they are surprisingly remarkable both aesthetically and in functionality.
A Reddit user, known as r/nhcia, has shared a collection of artistic QR code designs produced using Stable Diffusion, largely inspired by anime and manga artwork. These designs stand in stark contrast to the conventional, simple QR codes we are accustomed to, yet they maintain full functionality. (For a deeper understanding of this technology, consider exploring our recommended AI art generators and tutorials.)
Usually, QR codes serve as a means to an end, typically leading to a website. However, the QR codes created by r/nhcia are artistic masterpieces in their own right. Similar to the inventive QR code wristwatch, this represents one of the more innovative uses of functional technology that we have encountered.
