📱 ChatGPT introduces mobile search via Bing

OpenAI's ChatGPT app for iOS now offers paid subscribers access to updated information from Microsoft's Bing search engine. OpenAI recently updated the app to provide its $20 per month ChatGPT Plus plan users with real-time web information.

Earlier this year, Microsoft invested a significant amount of money into OpenAI, and during its Build event in May, Microsoft announced that Bing would become the default search engine for ChatGPT.

The integration is currently in beta and available to ChatGPT Plus users on the web app. This version of the app has the capability to browse the internet and provide answers regarding recent topics and events. On the other hand, the free version of ChatGPT can only retrieve information up until 2021.

To activate web browsing with Bing on the ChatGPT iOS app, users need to access the settings, enable the Browsing option in the "New Features" section, select GPT-4 from the model switcher, and then choose "Browse with Bing" from the dropdown menu. Currently, the ChatGPT app is only available on iOS, but an Android version is expected to be released soon.

Meta is providing a preview of its AI's content-curation capabilities for Facebook and Instagram through the introduction of 22 'system cards.' These informative guides reveal the inner workings of Meta's algorithm, user customization options, and the various factors or 'signals' that impact AI predictions.

Furthermore, Meta has expanded the "Why Am I Seeing This?" feature, allowing users to access information about their previous activities that may have influenced the machine learning models used by Meta. This feature aims to enhance transparency and provide users with insights into the content they encounter on the platforms.
